Lisa Marie: Senior Employee

Monday, June 6th, 2011

Allow me to introduce myself!
My name is Lisa Marie Reginato and I have been with Photodon.com for almost a whole decade! When I started here I did lots of things! Some of our customers might remember working with me through emails and phone calls as I use to manage customer relations.

Switching gears
In June of 2009 I went to work for a very different kind of boss; my brand new, sweet, baby boy. Being Mommy is seriously the best “job” I have had (sorry Photodon)! When my son was 5 months I came back to work part time.
So there’s my history here at Photodon.com!

Things I like to do:
I enjoy working in the yard, mountain biking, camping, snow shoeing, snow snowmobiling, being out on the lake, on the beach, cleaning (yes cleaning) but more than anything, I love spending time with my guys at home!

What I like about my job:
My favorite part about my job is that it’s sometimes challenging and I’m always learning new things!

Get’n personal
I’ve been married to my loving, strong, hard working husband for 6 years this year.

I’m having the time of my life being a Mom! My son is my absolute hero. He’s definately going to change the world! Actually, he already has.

Photodon International Shipping Explained

Monday, March 14th, 2011

With the rising costs of crude oil, the price of *everything* seems to be climbing too! Since we cannot ship products telepathically, the fact that fuel charges have increased means shipping costs had to increase as well.

As most of us are aware the United States Postal Service has raised the cost of a domestic stamp for two years in a row now. It wasn’t just the stamp price that went up either. The cost of all of their services has gone up, including the International shipping services that USPS offers, such as Global Priority Mail (GPM) and Global Express Mail (GEP). All orders leaving the US still have to go through customs; that part hasn’t changed.

Here at Photodon we charge the lowest price we possibly can to ship our products!

The price our customer pays for shipping often times barely covers (or sometimes does not even cover) the amount of the postage that it takes to get the order to them let alone the cost for packaging and handling. We try to only charge our customers enough to cover what we pay for postage. We know firsthand what a bummer it is to pay for uprising costs on services and goods! We would like to offer you, our valuable customer, as low a price as we can afford to submit.

The prices that USPS charges for these services are not only based on weight and distance, but also on dimensional weight. Dimensional weight is when the shipper is also charged for the actual size of the box. So even if the contents shipped are light, if the box is a long rectangular shape it will be charged for its dimensions. Something else that is good to know: shipping weight starts at one pound and go up with each full pound. So if your package weighs 1.25 pounds you pay for a full 2 pounds instead.

For our Canadian customers:

We know that it is so hard to make sense of such high shipping charges when you’re physically not that far away from Northern Michigan. All the same international rules apply to you as well and we really don’t charge you anymore than what we are charged for shipping costs.

The USPS Global services that we use, Global Priority Mail (GPM) and Global Express Mail (GEM), offer a tracking service. When your order has been shipped we will email you a confirmation number that you can track at USPS.com.

We can ship FedEx International using your FedEx account!

To use this shipping option, you will need to contact us to place your order as our website is not set up for this shipping method. When your package reaches your country you will be charged for custom duty fees. It is the customers reasonability to pay for any and all custom duty fees (in full) that apply. We do not charge you for custom duty fees.

Please also note that even though we try to ship as economically as possible that we don’t skimp out on how products are packaged! We will ensure that your order is well packaged so that it is delivered undamaged and promptly to you!
If there is anything that we can note on the outside of your parcel to let the carrier know that there is a special place, door, deck, etc. you would like package to sit/be delivered to, please make a note in the comments box when you place your order on the web and we will be sure to write that note in an eye catching way so that it won’t be missed.

If you have any further questions about shipping please see the FAQ section of our website. Want more to read? Learn about how we try to be green with our packaging (as often as we can be).

Have a question that I didn’t cover in this blog?

By all means please post it below! Or if you’re on FaceBook feel free to ask any questions you may have on our wall.

Our Goal

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Here at Photodon.com, we strive to offer quality products at affordable prices.

Before a product is added to our store, we test it in our offices, in our workshops, at our homes, at our family and friend’s homes; sometimes we even send out samples in exchange for consumer feedback.
If it doesn’t fly with us, we won’t even try to sell it to you! And believe me, we’ve tested quite a bit of product!
What we put forward is what we know to be the best, and our customers deserve the best.

There are a lot of businesses out there that offer specialty cleaners, microfiber cloths, monitor hoods, and screen protective film. So we’re working hard to give you good enough reason to shop our store and keep you coming back.

Although good products at good prices is only “a piece of the pie”. Our customer service staff is friendly and accommodating. If you ever have a question or concern about a product, your order, or how we do business, a real, live, person will answer your call or respond to your email.
If there is a problem, we’ll go out of our way to make it right.
Your satisfaction matters to us. YOU matter to us. You’re not an order number here! You’re a very important part of how we run our online store and you’ll always be appreciated for stopping by.

We have the ability of fulfilling large orders, and custom orders, but we want to give that small town store feel when you’re doing business with us.

Remember we’re always opened to suggestions! Follow us on Twitter, Like us of Facebook, or contact us via phone or email. We’d love to hear from you.

Everyone Wants to be “Green”

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

These days most of us are looking for ways to do just about everything a little “greener”.
We know it’s the little things that, (in the long run), will make a big impact.

Here at Photodon.com, we’re always looking for more ways to do our part in keeping a cleaner environment.

So if you’re curious as to why the box that we shipped your order in looks like it was used before, it probably was; or why we used newspaper for packaging instead of a plastic mold, we have a lot of people giving us their old papers.
These are our “little things” that we practice to do our part for “greener” tomorrows.

We also want to help YOU do your part so we offer products like microfiber cloths, natural cleaning solutions and longer lasting screen protective films.

Not everything we offer is as “green” as we would like, so we ask you to be responsible when discarding used products.

Remember to reuse spray bottles or recycle them where such plastics are accepted.
Use your lens wipes until they’re dry and make sure they’re disposed of in the proper baskets.

We’ve found the US EPA (United Sates Environmental Protection Agency) to be a very good source of information for where to recycle everything from plastics to used electronics! We suggest you bookmark this site as they are a very useful resource on how to care/help the environment.

We follow and feature some great folks who are wonderful advocates for recycling and for the environment, so come check them out on our Twitter and FaceBook pages.

Thank you for following this and all our blogs! Your feedback has been absolutely refreshing and we appreciate the time you take to leave your comments. We hope this week’s blog was useful to you!
