Different Uses for Microfiber Cloths

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

As far as my favorite cleaning tools go,
Microfiber Cloths are right up there with my vacuum!

If you missed my last blog: Why you *should* be using Microfiber to clean, take a second to read over what makes a Microfiber Cloth so efficient. Visit our Microfiber Cloths page to learn more.

On our website we promote Screen Care Products

Uses of Microfiber Cloths

Today I’m going to share some of the different/non-traditional uses for Microfiber Cloths. Some are my own but a lot of them come from other folks who have shared with us their own ways of cleaning with microfiber cloth.

I honestly can’t think of a better way to serve up these ideas other than to list them off to you.
So here we go!

Microfiber Cloths Are Great for:

  • Watches and jewelry
  • In the shower or bath (great for kids and babies!)
  • Car detailing
  • Gun care
  • Scuba gear cleaning
  • Fish tank maintenance
  • Use as dish rag
  • Bike equipment
  • Kids’ toys
  • Buffing finger smudges from photo prints
  • Pet care equipment
  • Home medical tools (like thermometers)
  • Polishing bowling balls
  • Trophy cleaning
  • Shoe care

There are so many great uses for this remarkable material!

One really handy and neat use for our #360 Suede Microfiber is to lay it flat on the keyboard of your laptop. The cloth is thin enough that you can close the laptop leaving the cloth inside. This will protect your screen if the keys tend to rub the screen as they do on some laptops when closed.

To clean delicate surfaces I would recommend a tightly woven or suede like microfiber cloth. Also a suede microfiber cloth works well for polishing smooth surfaces.
Suede Microfiber Cloth

When using microfiber cloths such as our bubble looped microfiber or checkered weave microfiber as a wash rag in the shower or for washing dishes, a thicker soft microfiber is nice and soft on the skin.

Don’t forget! Using Microfiber cloths vs. something like a paper towel helps keep more waste out of the landfills as they are washable and re-usable! Go Green! Remember we’re borrowing this earth from our children.

If you have any questions about this Blog or would like to share your uses for Microfiber Cloths, please post a comment at the bottom of this blog or go to our FaceBook Fan page and share your thoughts and ideas on our wall! We’d love to hear them and I’m sure others would too! Thanks for reading!

Our Goal

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Here at Photodon.com, we strive to offer quality products at affordable prices.

Before a product is added to our store, we test it in our offices, in our workshops, at our homes, at our family and friend’s homes; sometimes we even send out samples in exchange for consumer feedback.
If it doesn’t fly with us, we won’t even try to sell it to you! And believe me, we’ve tested quite a bit of product!
What we put forward is what we know to be the best, and our customers deserve the best.

There are a lot of businesses out there that offer specialty cleaners, microfiber cloths, monitor hoods, and screen protective film. So we’re working hard to give you good enough reason to shop our store and keep you coming back.

Although good products at good prices is only “a piece of the pie”. Our customer service staff is friendly and accommodating. If you ever have a question or concern about a product, your order, or how we do business, a real, live, person will answer your call or respond to your email.
If there is a problem, we’ll go out of our way to make it right.
Your satisfaction matters to us. YOU matter to us. You’re not an order number here! You’re a very important part of how we run our online store and you’ll always be appreciated for stopping by.

We have the ability of fulfilling large orders, and custom orders, but we want to give that small town store feel when you’re doing business with us.

Remember we’re always opened to suggestions! Follow us on Twitter, Like us of Facebook, or contact us via phone or email. We’d love to hear from you.

I’m outta here for now! Take Care!

Everyone Wants to be “Green”

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

These days most of us are looking for ways to do just about everything a little “greener”.
We know it’s the little things that, (in the long run), will make a big impact.

Here at Photodon.com, we’re always looking for more ways to do our part in keeping a cleaner environment.

So if you’re curious as to why the box that we shipped your order in looks like it was used before, it probably was; or why we used newspaper for packaging instead of a plastic mold, we have a lot of people giving us their old papers.
These are our “little things” that we practice to do our part for “greener” tomorrows.

We also want to help YOU do your part so we offer products like microfiber cloths, natural cleaning solutions and longer lasting screen protective films.

Not everything we offer is as “green” as we would like, so we ask you to be responsible when discarding used products.

Remember to reuse spray bottles or recycle them where such plastics are accepted.
Use your lens wipes until they’re dry and make sure they’re disposed of in the proper baskets.

We’ve found the US EPA (United Sates Environmental Protection Agency) to be a very good source of information for where to recycle everything from plastics to used electronics! We suggest you bookmark this site as they are a very useful resource on how to care/help the environment.

We follow and feature some great folks who are wonderful advocates for recycling and for the environment, so come check them out on our Twitter and FaceBook pages.

Thank you for following this and all our blogs! Your feedback has been absolutely refreshing and we appreciate the time you take to leave your comments. We hope this week’s blog was useful to you!

“Which Film Type Do I Need?”

Monday, May 24th, 2010

Since everyone has their own unique situations, applications and preferences, we offer a few different types of screen protective film. We hope that this will help make it easier for you to choose your  film type.

  • If glare is an issue and you have a non-touch screen display, our MXS film type is what you’ll want to choose. It is a thicker, non-glare film which will protect your display and cut down bothersome light reflections.
  • Touch screen displays with glare issues would require a thinner film as to not interfere with the touch capabilities. We suggest our MXT type film. It shares the same anti-reflective properties as the MXS but is slightly thinner.
  • Our MXA film type is a crystal clear film that offers protection and works great on most touch screen applications. If you’re not concerned with cutting down glare but would like an inexpensive way to protect your investment, this is it.

For more detailed information about film types, see our Film Type Comparison chart. You can also visit our main film page for further information and a list of the benefits that screen protective film has to offer.

Don’t Forget!
Follow us on FaceBook and Twitter! We’d love to here any feedback you might have!
