Questions and Answers:
- This won't hurt the LCD screen if I decided to remove it will it?
This film will not harm the LCD. If you decide to remove it, the silicone resin base adhesion allows the film to be easily removed. We have tested the film on a laptop that we use on a regular basis and the film was in place for approximately 18 months. When we removed it the film came off without any problem and the silicone felt nearly as tacky as new. No residue was left on the screen and it looked as good as new. We were able to wash the film and reapply the film.
- What is the recommended replacement time for the LCD protective films?
The replacement period for our film will depend on the use and abuse that the film receives and also the period of time applied. We recommend that you replace the film after a period of one year based on time, and sooner if you realize some wear such as on a tablet where you are contstantly in contact with the screen.
- Will the touchscreen work with the film applied?
Their are many types of touchscreen tecnologies, but our films work very well with most of them. Any of our thinner films are recommended for touchscreen type applications, MXT, MXA or 500 series films.
- I am wondering if you sell a product that would be suitable for reducing glare on the new Apple iMacs with the glass screens, and if you offer a size for the 24" model
?
Yes, please select our custom cut 20 inch or 24 inch screens for iMac.
- If I put the film on my laptop screen and find it isn't what I expect, will I be able to remove the film? From the description on the web site it sounds like the adhesive will not hurt my laptop LCD, but I wasn't sure how easy it would be to get off
?
The silicone adhesion of our films is not an actual bonding to the surface as glue might, so removal is easy.
- Can these films be custom cut?
Yes, from our list of standard films select the size your film can be cut from and include the custom cut dimensions at checkout. We will normally subtract 1 millimeter from your dimensions for ease of installation. If you need exact dimensions place the word "Exact" after your dimension entered.

- Do you offer your anti-glare films for plasma tv's? I might be interested in one for a 50" tv?
We can currently cut films up to 24.5" in height (this is our roll size), and 48" long. Larger pieces are available but not custom cut.
- Do you have any experience in using the anti glare sheeting for picture or artwork frames? I have a 30x10" watercolor piece I need to frame.
About how much would that cost? Would the film be applied over the regular glass?
Sorry our films will not work well on artwork pieces as the film needs to be in contact with the image such as on an LCD. The artwork would be all fuzzy looking, not good:)
- What is the best way to cut the film..do you use a guillotine or a razor?
For the cutting of films, a rotary cutter is probably the best followed by a guillotine and then a razor blade and straight edge. We will custom cut the films for you for a nominal price.
- What will the film do when I move indoors--will it make the image too dark?
You will not even notice it when you move indoors.
- Is your anti glare self adhesive, is it UV rated and can it be used outdoors?
Our MX type films have been environmentally tested and passed:
1000 hours of test in 80degC, 60degC/90% RH, and UV exposure environment.
- I am leaning toward the anti glare but concern about screen clarity which might be hard to read. I assume the crystal clear is not as effective in term of diffusing glare?
The crystal clear / high contrast is without any glare reduction. The anti-glare / non glare will give you glare reduction. For most applications the anti-glare is fine, however the anti-glare film also causes some speckling of the screen (less noticeable in the MXT thin material). Thus we do not recommend the anti-glare for color critical applications.
- LCD Protective Film 17 inch Anti-Glare: Would this work on a 17" computer monitor or is it only for LCD displays?
The Protective Film will work on glass flat screen monitors as well as LCD's. The screen must be flat for the film to properly adhere.
- I am curious if your product may improve the view, outside in high sunlight, on a digital camera where the coating on the LCD has worn off .
Our LCD film would even out the surface and provide some added glare reduction to boot. It is not the perfect solution but should help.
- The LCD protective films we ordered are a little short?
We cut our films approximately 1mm short to allow for some installation error because if the film catches the edge you have noticeable edge where the film does not touch the screen. Also you need a small edge to catch if you ever need to remove the film. If for some reason you need exact dimensions let us know and we will cut them for you, however we cannot be responsible for the possible problems mentioned above.
- I have a custom built arcade cabinet with a 2ft square sheet of safety glass in front of a regular CRT monitor. However I do have a bit of a glare problem coming off the glass sheet, and I am wondering if your product would adhere to the glass (versus the material LCD screens are made of)?
The film will adhere to regular glass just fine, however, these films are made to go directly onto LCD screens. When placed on glass and not in direct contact with the image you get a opaque pane of glass.
- I'm thinking about purchasing the LCD protective films for my laptops and GPS navigation device in my car. I'm wondering which type of film is better. For my laptops, the screen is a clear glass like screen. For the navigation device it has a non-glare surface. Which type of film do you recommend, 500 series Crystal Clear or 500 series anti-glare?
Most people like the anti-glare films the best, this reduces the reflection problem and gives good screen protection.
The crystal clear would be recommended for indoors use and in color in color critical applications such as prepress or color calibrated monitors.
- I am having an issue with bubbles, what is done to get rid of them?
If you notice bubbles as you go, pull back to the area and retry. If caused by dirt, attempt to lightly flick it
off using your finger or use the sticky side of a piece of tape (unused clothes lint roller tape is best as it is very sticky). A
credit card may be used to work out any bubble not caused by dirt. Apply light pressure evenly across the
surface. Gently apply pressure back and forth to the area of contact (front side) until the film is completely
adhered. If no dirt is present, very small air bubbles may dissipate in a few days.
