50mm Magnifier, Linen Tester
These folding magnifiers / linen testers have glass lenses and plastic frames. The base opening is graduated in millimeters and in inches (42mm and 1 - 11/16)
A linen tester is ideal for student geology or biology lab projects. These plastic, folding magnifiers can also be used for home / hobby use, such as stamp collecting, quilt making, sewing projects or electronics.
Essentially an inexpensive microscope, a linen tester's original purpose was to observe thread patterns or for thread count. Also, it could be used for the inspection of letter quality and checking the dot image of a halftones (printing press industry).
