This helped my issues with glare. I managed to install it with almost no dust specs between the film and the glass, but it took a bit of effort. I'm totally satisfied!

My nice new 24" iMac was an upgrade from my old and beloved iMac G5 20". Unfortunately the screen was the high-contrast high-reflection type, that makes viewing the computer in anything other than a dark room utter misery. With a bright window behind the person viewing the screen it was impossible to get a good view. It was compromised by the reflections. I did a Google search for 'anti-relective coatings' and 'matte screen foils' and probably a couple of others, and eventually homed in on this site. If there was anything available in the UK, I could not find it with the searches I had done. The price was 'reasonable', the cost of shipping to the UK, eye-watering and the website shopping cart seemed to be incapable of ever accepting my credit card details. Round and round in circles I went, getting more and more frustrated! I even fired off a rather curt missive to Mary Ellen Bristol, who gave a measured and polite reply, encouraging perseverance and patience (both of which I have - really!). It was very unlike me to blow my top (however I was not rude, that would never do, I do not condone it in others and would never allow myself to be rude). I persevered, I was patience personified and at last, somehow, I managed to hit the magic sequence and get it to accept my payment. Hooray! No more shiny screen. I would have liked the possibility of surface mail, without insurance, to the UK. Here is why. Some 2 to 3 weeks later, I received a card from one of the major postal services in the UK, Datapost International. They informed lucky me that they had a package for my collection, but an additional charge of ï¾£18.60 (about $28) comprising VAT (Value Added Tax) and a 'handling charge' equal to the VAT. The products would not be released without this payment. I have no idea what they do if you don't or won't pay? I coughed up as I had no choice. Surface mail is NEVER checked by the Customs and Excise people, it takes about 5 weeks, costs less and never gets VAT added. From dozens of packages and eBay good won, surface mail has always worked. Make it available please? The screen foil is reasonably easy to fit and I messed about with it for about 1 hour, until I realised I had creased it somehow and the 'bubble' under the foil was a kink in the plastic and I would have to live with it. The results are not as good as the original matte finish Apple screen - lets be honest. They simply are not as good. The matte finish makes the image 'twinkle' very slightly when close up. You get a sample piece to try out, with the chance to return for a full refund, blah blah. That simply is NOT a possibility in the UK. The total cost to me to get it here was almost to the penny TWICE the cost of the foil alone. It either worked or it didn't, refund was not a sensible option. All considered the kit comes with all you need, probably more than you could ever use 3 or 4 times over. There are aerosols of stuff and micro-fibre clothes to wipe the screen etc. Lots of detail, very helpful and probably overkill. I prefer the screen now to how it was. PhotoDon do a good job but the postage to the UK is way too high!
